This is one of my newer pieces. I am pleased with how it turned out. I carried the idea of it around in my head for a long time before I sat down to execute it. It's a basic wooden plaque that I have covered in my own home made felt. Actually, it goes back even more than that. First I dyed the wool, then I made it into the felt. The door knocker is solid brass and it's surrounded by swirls of glass beads. In amongst these beads are polymer clay beads that I made and painted. I attached the word knock to these beads in five different languages. I think this would be so perfect for someone's studio or office and if it doesn't get snatched up, it's going on mine!
